Weekend Volleyball Results

            The Wabash MS 7th & 8th Grade Volleyball Teams traveled to Warsaw H.S. on Saturday, August 27 for the Edgewood MS Tournament. The Wabash 7th Grade Team defeated West Noble in their 1st match of the day in a 3 game set, 25-14/24-25/15-11. The Lady Apache 7th Grade Team lost their 2nd match vs Plymouth in another 3 game set, 25-21/17-25/6-15. Wawasee won over the Lady Apache 7th graders 25-11/25-20 in Wabash's last match of the day.  The record for the WMS 7th Grade Volleyball Team is 1-2.              

 

7th Grade Statistics: 

Kiersten O'Neil had 10 Aces and was 100% on Serving. 

Kendra Wiles had 3 Service Receptions vs West Noble and 7 Aces for the tournament.

Patience Collins McPherson had 2 Service Receptions and 3 Digs vs West Noble and 6 Aces for the Tournament.

Emma Cain had 2 Blocks vs West Noble and 5 Aces for the tournament.

Kaitlynn Mckernan had 4 Aces.

Brooke Westendorf had  a stuff block, a block, and a kill vs West Noble and 3 Aces for the tournament.

Ellen Mckenzie had 3 Service Receptions and 2 Digs vs West Noble and an Ace.

Kacy Long had 4 Service Points.

Player Statistics for the Plymouth and Wawasee Wabash 7th Grade Matches were unavailable.

The Wabash 8th Grade Team was runner-up to Tournament host Edgewood, going 3-2 for the day with their only loses being to Tournament winner Edgewood. The 8th Grade Lady Apache Volleyball Team defeated West Noble 25-17/25-18, lost to Edgewood in a 3 game set, 25-17/24-25, 12-15. Wabash bounced back, defeating Lincoln 25-16/25-24, and Wawasee 25-12/25-19. The Wabash 8th Grade Team lost to Edgewood in the Championship match 22-25/13-25. The record for the WMS 8th Grade Team is 3-2.

8th Grade Statistics:

Olivia Lindsay had 30 Service Points with 3 Aces and 28 Assists.

Alivia Short had 25 Service Points with 7 Aces, 22 Kills, 14 Blocks, and 

12 Service Receptions.

Nicole Gunderman had 22 Service Points with 8 Aces, 37 Service  Receptions, 12 Digs and 12 Kills.

Kyndal Fields had 19 Service Points with 4 Aces, 33 Service Receptions and 21 Digs.

Kandon Pries had 16 Service Points with 8 Aces and 8 Assists.

Madi Lutz had 6 Service points, an Ace, and 6 Kills.

Jordan Stumbo had 5 Blocks and 4 Kills.

Brooke Bowling had 6 Service Receptions and 6 Digs.

Kylie Brumley had 8 Digs.

Mariah Wyatt had 5 Kills.

The Wabash Middle School 7th & 8th Grade Volleyball Teams will be back in action onTuesday, August 30th at Riverview MS in Huntington. The 7th Grade Match starts at5:30 p.m. with the 8th Grade Match to follow.
